Abstract: We present three-loop helicity amplitudes for the production of a single photon in association with one jet in Quantum Chromodynamics, a final state which provides a standard candle of the Standard Model at the Large Hadron Collider. We employ a recently-proposed variation of the so-called tensor projection method in the 't Hooft-Veltman scheme (tHV) which avoids the computation of contributions due to unphysical (-2$\epsilon$)-dimensional polarisations of the external states. We obtain compact analytic results expressed in terms of harmonic polylogarithms.

, , , , Authors Piotr Bargiela, Amlan Chakraborty, and Giulio Gambuti present a detailed analysis of three-loop helicity amplitudes for the production of a single photon in association with one jet within the framework of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). This final state is significant as it serves as a standard candle of the Standard Model at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), providing valuable insights into fundamental particle interactions. The authors utilize a novel variation of the tensor projection method in the 't Hooft-Veltman scheme (tHV) to calculate these amplitudes, effectively avoiding computations from unphysical (-2$\epsilon$)-dimensional polarizations of external states. The results are presented concisely and analytically, expressed in terms of harmonic polylogarithms. This study not only enhances our understanding of photon+jet production processes at three-loop order but also demonstrates the effectiveness of advanced computational techniques in tackling complex quantum field theory calculations. The findings by Bargiela et al. offer valuable insights for theoretical physicists working on precision predictions for high-energy collider experiments, paving the way for further advancements in our knowledge of particle physics phenomena.
