## Summary

The emergence and reliance on the Internet and related technologies have led to the generation of vast amounts of data that can be analyzed. However, humans are limited in their cognitive abilities to comprehend such large volumes of data. Machine learning (ML) offers a solution by enabling humans to process and analyze massive datasets, gain insights into data behavior, and make more informed decisions based on the analysis results. ML has found applications in various fields including education, healthcare, network security, banking and finance, and social media. In this review, titled "Machine Learning Towards Intelligent Systems: Applications, Challenges, and Opportunities," authors MohammadNoor Injadat, Abdallah Moubayed, Ali Bou Nassif, and Abdallah Shami explore the challenges faced within these fields and present previous literature works that have addressed them. The authors highlight how ML can provide solutions to these challenges while also creating further research opportunities. Within each field mentioned above, there exist unique challenges that hinder progress. However, ML techniques offer promising solutions. For example, in education, ML can be used to personalize learning experiences for students by analyzing their performance data and tailoring instructional content accordingly. In healthcare, ML algorithms can aid in disease diagnosis by analyzing medical images or patient records with high accuracy. Network security is another area where ML plays a crucial role. By analyzing network traffic patterns using ML algorithms , potential cyber threats can be detected early on and appropriate measures taken to prevent attacks. In banking and finance sectors as well as social media platforms like Facebook or Twitter where large amounts of user data are generated daily; ML algorithms can analyze this data to detect fraudulent activities or identify user preferences for targeted advertising campaigns respectively. Despite the numerous benefits of applying ML techniques in these fields , there are still challenges that need to be addressed . These include issues related to privacy protection when dealing with sensitive personal information or biases embedded within datasets used for training ML models . To overcome these challenges and further advance the field , the authors suggest several research opportunities that leverage ML techniques . These opportunities include exploring new algorithms and models to improve accuracy and efficiency , developing robust privacy-preserving techniques ,and addressing ethical considerations associated with ML applications . In conclusion , this review emphasizes the significance of ML in processing large amounts of data across various fields . It highlights the challenges faced within education , healthcare , network security , banking and finance ,and social media sectors . By presenting previous literature works that have tackled these challenges and suggesting further research opportunities ,the authors provide valuable insights into how ML can continue to revolutionize these domains .
