## Summary

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to an increase in interest in home gardening, as people look for ways to grow their own fruits and vegetables without having to rely on online grocery shopping. In Sri Lanka, this trend has been particularly pronounced, with many families taking up gardening during the lockdown period. However, as restrictions are lifted and people return to work, it becomes difficult for them to continue tending to their gardens. To address this problem, a team of researchers has developed an IoT Smart Plant Monitoring, Watering and Security System that allows gardeners to remotely monitor important factors such as plant healthiness, soil moisture level, air humidity level and surrounding temperature using an app. The system uses sensors such as temperature, humidity and color to identify the presence of illness in plants based on variations in leaf health state. This automated solution ensures that gardeners can continue growing their own produce even when they are unable to spend time physically tending to their gardens.
