## Summary

In the past decade, wireless data services have revolutionized the way people live their lives. With a significant increase in mobile devices and data traffic nearly doubling each year, there is a growing demand for higher data rates, lower latency, increased connectivity, network reliability, and energy efficiency. This has led to the development of the fifth-generation (5G) mobile communications network. The 5G network incorporates various improvements from previous generations and new technologies such as millimeter wavebands (mm-wave), massive multiple-input multiple-output (mMIMO) multi-beam antennas, network densification, dynamic Time Division Duplex (TDD) transmission, and new waveforms with mixed numerologies. The integration of terahertz (THz) communications and Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) further enhances performance and signal quality for future 6G networks. However, the complex structure of 5G and beyond networks introduces non-orthogonality and generates significant interference that must be carefully managed. Effective interference management schemes are essential to mitigate unpredictable interference in mobile networks. This paper provides a comprehensive review of interference management in 5G and Beyond networks. It discusses different types of interference, existing management approaches, interference measurement reports, signaling methods, literature reviews on management schemes for each type of interference identified. Additionally, it addresses main challenges in future 6G networks and suggests new interference management approaches including AI-based solutions. Authored by Nessrine Trabelsi from CRNS, Lamia Chaari Fourati from ISIMS, and Chung Shue Chen from LINCS; this review serves as a valuable guide for industry professionals seeking relevant technology for interference management while considering future challenges and research directions in the field.
