Abstract: BLDC motors with Hall sensors are generally more affordable compared to other motor types like stepper motors or servo motors. Their simpler design and lower component count contribute to their lower cost. In most cases, three Hall sensors are commonly used in BLDC motors to detect the position of rotor. This configuration provides information about the commutation sequence and enables precise control of the motor. If one of the sensor fails, this may lead to instability or even complete failure of motor. So ensure high reliability, Fault-Tolerant Control (FTC) techniques for Hall sensors have been introduced. This paper is based on the detection of fault, identification and signal reconstruction of Hall sensor signals which is based on a simple combination of binary functions, which requires just a memory of three bit. This FTC method make sure that the BLDC motor is more reliable and will overcome false alarms that may have been caused by previous fault detection techniques. FTC algorithm ensures a long use of motor even if one of the sensors is faulty. To validate the performance of BLDC motor based on FTC, it is simulated in MATLAB/simulink environment.
